We just spoke to the trauma doctor. He explained to us that tomorrow they are going to go in and close Jonathan's abdomen. We are anxiously awaiting that to be done so that there is not as much risk for infection. Depending on how Jonathan holds up they may do some further work on his face while they are already in there closing the abdomen. This would be ideal, but it may or may not work out. Sunday when they did closed his jaw it was about a 2 hour surgery. They informed us that there will be about 12 hours of surgery needed to correct everything on his face. So, 2 hours down, 10 more to go on his face. Also, at some point this week they are hoping to do an MRI, on his brain. They are unsure that they'll be able to do that because of the bolt in his skull for the brain monitor and due to the plates in his face they put in on Sunday. Early next week they are hoping to start working on his pelvis. The thing is, everything depends on the other. So, we just have to wait and see.

Thanks again for all the cards, food, calls and visits.

To the Newman Family,

As a co-worker to Jonathan I know him as a team memeber and a very strong individual.

Things like this are difficult for me; not knowing what to do or say but I feel the need to express here that I too have been praying constantly for Jonathan and your family.

I am so grateful to have a forum such as this to obtain up-to-date information on his progress and to see the love from all expressed to him in this forum. It certainly is uplifting and inspirational. Especially after viewing the picture of the his car.

God truly is wonderful!

I was in tears when Rebecca shared the news with me. We were in Miami airport on our way back from Jamaica and I immediately started praying!!! Even though I was distraught hearing the news, I was comforted in knowing that God was still in control. I truly believe that God will use this miracle to bring many to know Him and His glory. This blog is the perfect vehicle to get the word out. In fact, I propose that the name of the blog be changed to, "Jonathan's Miracle!" I believe and time will tell that Jonathan will one day tell his story to the nations and this blog will be the proof that will bring many to their knees!

My prayers go out to Jonathan and the Newman family. May God continue to give you all the strength, comfort and peace that you all need to make it through each day. Although the nights may be long, remember that joy comes in the morning!

We love you all,

Andrea, Gordon and Madison Harrison

I am a previous co-worker of Jonathan's that became his friend. I know that Jonathan has a great respect for God and know that is why he is still with us. My prayers out weigh my tears but I cry for him everyday because I know that once he pulls thru this I am going to hug him first then beat him silly. An you can only appreciate this if you know our relationship. To his family stay strong and in prayer because we know our man is hard headed but our love for him is harder. To Mrs.Newman please whisper in Jonathan's ear that you LOVE HIM and that Susan asked you to do it. I know you already have but he'll understand the message. Newman famiy you son means alot to me and if there is anything I can do during these trying times do not hesitate to ask.

I find myself checking this blog 3 & 4 times a day on my phone, at home (its my Home page), and at work. Lookin for the smallest update. I miss the talks Jon and I used to have after work at three in the morning. I have been praying for him long before his accident. It's so glad to know that he has a family grounded in Christ.
With his Faith he can look past his injuries from his accident to Gods purpose. An unbeliever may not understand how you can praie God admist all of his surgeries and injuries and recovery. But there is always a reason to thank God; Thank God his life wasn't taken, Thank God noone elses life was taken, Thank God there wasnt anyone else injured, Thank God the doctors worked so diligently to save him, Thank God they tried things they may not have befor, Thank God Jon's body was so strong and healthy, Thank God his spine wasnt injured, Thank God there wasn't severe head trauma and there is just so much more you could thank God for...
He is like family of you guys need anything let me know, Charlie hasmy number.

Dear Newman family, we check the website several times daily to hear of Jon's progress. It is a blessing to us to read this blog and somehow we feel a little closer to you and Jonathan during this time of prayer, concern, love, and watchfulness. Please know we, like you, do feel concern and sadness but know our Lord is in control. His will be done. we pray His angels embrace his broken body and our Lord restore him to full health. God bless, Tom and Sandi Windsor

I am praying for Jonathan & his family constantly. I know Jonathan from working at PMSI & thru his buddy Arthur. Those 2 were known as the GQ's of PMSI :) I am a FIRM believer in the miracle hand of GOD "Jehovah." He is your strength & stronghold. With God all things are possible.I am asking him to carry you thru this. There will be brighter days. God Bless you.
